My phone isn't always my friend...

Over Christmas I came across the idea of viewing your phone, not as friend, but as potential foe. So as part of my art gap year investigating mental wellbeing I've decided to review my relationship with it. Something that's made a massive difference, is to put my phone in a wooden box I have in my lounge after 5pm. Instead when I'd normally scroll, I'm making sure I've got a book to hand instead. I got myself an analogue alarm clock so I don't need my phone for its alarm feature. I have tried and failed numerous times over the years to cut the umbilical cord with my phone, but there's something different about this time, and I think it's the box! By hiding my phone away it's out of sight, out of mind, and so it's unable to reach me with its phone wiles!
