I spent a lot of my time reading about the history of mental health and listening to lots of podcasts about the same issue, this can get quite intense so I take a break by listening to a bit of history. I was listening to a podcast about the history of hats by Ruth Goodman, when my ears pricked up as she stated that in medieval times people believed that hats could send messages to the brain. Until the 1950s hats were worn by all sorts of people for centuries. I find it fascinating that people thought that as well as keeping their heads warm hats were thought to communicate with their wearer's brain. Oh the possibilities if that were true!
