Hills in living memory...

As part of my research into the Seven Hills I asked the ever-helpful Grimsby Memories group on Facebook to ask what people remembered about the hills in Grimsby that remained alongside Cambridge and Yarborough Road. Listening to their stories made me wistful for the time in Grimsby when the boundaries between the town and country were more blurred. I'm also rather envious that the people who'd responded had spent time in their childhoods playing in a part of town that had been around since the last Ice Age and had formed a part of the town for centuries. Now only two of the original 'seven' hills remain - Cun Hu sits at the back of Grimsby golf club, and Holme Hill sits under the church on the East Marsh.
